You may need a headboard if the studs don't line up with the pre-drilled holes in the rail, or if the "door depth" plus "trim depth" is greater than 2 inches. You'll also need a minimum of 6 inches from the top of your door to the ceiling (or crown molding) for this kit to fit correctly.

Our hardware kits can accommodate door thicknesses from 1 3/8 inches to 1 3/4 inches. If your door is thicker, you can easily navigate this by countersinking the bolt head into the back side of the door, or by picking up longer bolts from your local hardware store.
